5.1" Bloodstone Singer (open mouth) Skull
Goodness this skull is stunning! It was sold to me as Bloodstone, with greens, reds, blues, teal, white and even a touch of purple! The back is a bubbly botroyoidial like textured surface in white and milky clear, like Moss Agate, which made me question if it has agate banding in the areas in this color. It looks so much like the Indian Agate Dragon that's available I had to research abit, as I alway thought Bloodstone was a jasper, I found:
Bloodstone is a green Chalcedony (compact microscopic) with red inclusions. The green can come from Chlorite, Amphibole, Pyroxene or Hornblende inclusions and the red inclusions are from red Jasper or Iron Oxide inclusions like Hematite. Indian Bloodstone: Also known as Heliotrope, Indian Bloodstone is a bluish green to a dark green stone. It may show white Chalcedony, sometimes Indian Bloodstone may contain fancy Jasper or Moss Agate... If your wondering why the name "jasper" is used because opaque chalcedony is, by definition, a jasper.
